The functional principle of liquid cooling radiators.

A typical water cooling system must have the following components: water block, circulating liquid, water pump, pipes, and a water tank or heat exchanger. The water block is a metal block with internal water channels, made of copper or aluminum, that contacts the CPU and absorbs its heat. The circulating liquid flows through the pipes driven by the water pump; if the liquid is water, it is commonly referred to as a water cooling system. The liquid that has absorbed the CPU's heat flows away from the water block on the CPU, while new, cooler circulating liquid continues to absorb the CPU's heat. The pipes connect the water pump, water block, and water tank, allowing the circulating liquid to flow in a closed loop without leaking, ensuring the liquid cooling system operates normally. The water tank is used to store the circulating liquid, and the heat exchanger is a device similar to a heat sink, where the circulating liquid transfers heat to the heat sink with a large surface area, and the fan on the heat sink carries away the heat to the incoming air.

In today's personal computer cooling field, while air coolers have largely escaped the cycle of high noise and aggressive cooling, they are generally developing towards larger sizes, multiple heat pipes, and excessive weight.
